OSHA 501 Course

This one time, 10-hour course covers a wide range of Health and Safety topics. This course is designed to give you, the student, a greater understanding to recognize potential hazards in the work place and at home.

This course offers a blend of subject matters, some of which are mandatory by OSHA.

OSHA’s Mandatory topics to be covered:

  • Walking and working surfaces,
  • Electrical Safety,
  • Hazardous Communications,
  • Fall Protection,
  • Personal Protection Equipment

In order to allow the Instructor flexibility to meet the specific needs of the students at their work place, OSHA allows the remaining four hours to be covered by elective material such as,

Elective Topics:

10 hours Construction Industry Card Sample

  • Blood Borne Pathogens,
  • Machine Guarding,
  • Confined Spaces,
  • Noise Protecting,
  • Scaffolding,
  • Power tools,
  • Health Hazards

Course note: The Occupational Health and Safety Administration, (OSHA,) mandates that the length of the 502 Construction Industry course be a full 10 hours of classroom instruction. Furthermore, OSHA requires that this course be conducted over a two day period, not one. This stretching of the class into two days allows the students not to be overly tired and to better absorb the subject matter, as well as receiving quality instruction delivered at a slower pace.
