Shanna Westerfer - Health and Safety

An employee of The University of Pennsylvania, Shanna spends her day as a full-time Gardener and Shop Steward. She is currently enrolled in classes at the Local 835 and at a trades College working towards an Associates in the Skilled Trades. Her goal is to learn more about the Local 835 and how it can help herself and other further their career in the trades. She is somewhat new to the Health and Safety field since becoming an instructor in 2016. However, she is eager to learn as much as she can about the OSHA Standards and be able to successfully communicate those to students that she will teach in the future. Shanna has found a new respect for the amount of attention that should be put on Safety in the Workplace and how people can protect themselves from Workplace Hazards on a daily basis.
